Coronavirus Summer update

As the country gets back to some kind of ‘normal’ we want to update you on where things stand with professional fireworks displays for private and public events based on Government guidelines and Industry advice.

We have based this advice on the PM’s statement on Coronavirus 17th July 2020 and from advice from the British Pyrotechnists Association (BPA), that we are members of and the Events Industry Forum (EIF).

Wedding Receptions

From the 1st August 2020 Wedding receptions can happen again with a maximum of 30 people. UPDATE: from 14th August. Many of the venues we work at are reopening bookings and we are taking bookings for Professional Fireworks Displays.

Most of our Summer and Autumn bookings have already been postponed (at no extra cost from us) to 2021 so we have plenty of availability to take short-notice bookings from 14th August 2020.

We already have all the personal protection equipment (PPE) in place for our crews to work safety on-site. We also guarantee that if your event is cancelled last minute due to COVID we will postpone our booking with no extra charges.

Based on Industry advice we expect the 30 person limit to be lifted in the Autumn subject to what happens with the virus.

Bonfire Night Displays

While there is of course still uncertainty around mast public gatherings there does appear to be some hope that Bonfire Night Displays will go ahead with extra measures in place.

In the PM’s 17th July statement he said of events in October

From October, we intend to bring back audiences in stadia and to allow conferences and other business events to recommence – again, these changes must be done in a Covid Secure way, subject to the successful outcome of pilots.

Boris Johnson, Prime Minister

The Industry is taking that to mean that large outdoor public fireworks displays would be allowed to go ahead. We have spoken to our specialist Fireworks Insurance company and they take a view that as long as event organisers make efforts to support (not enforce) social distancing that they will get insurance cover.

We are also offering to tear-up our existing cancellation fees and are allowing events to postpone without charge that gets shut down last minute due to COVID. We will keep the booking fee and postpone the booking for up to a year without making any further charges. This we hope will take some of the risks away from organisers.

New Years Eve

Many venues have confirmed their booking with us for New Year’s Eve and they are keen to run their events. We will be as supportive as possible with event organisers should there be problems with COVID but we haven’t made any specific plans yet.
